Thank you for taking time to provide us with information about yourself, your career background, and the learning experience you have had with DLC Training.

Please tell us a little bit about yourself?  

I have a passion for making people successful or giving them opportunities to grow and become successful. I am married with two boys, 22 and 19 and have been involved in competitive swimming for almost 50 years as either a swimmer or coach.

Please explain your job role with a little description about what you do? 

My job title is Region 1 and DMO Service manager. My primary function is to ensure that a team of 16 engineers that service Draeger’s medical and safety equipment can carry out their job professionally and safely. I also look after the Marine & Offshore service business by supporting the Marine & Offshore Service Operations Manager.

What has been you career progression route?

Initially starting out in the Semiconductor industry with approximately 20 years of supporting manufacturing and maintenance of highly complex semiconductor equipment throughout the globe and after redundancy changed my direction into the medical sector, where I am now.

Which course did you study with DLC Training and why? 

CMI Level 7 Strategic Management and Leadership. I chose this course for a couple of reasons, with the primary reason to position myself for career progression within the business and DLC was used as they are our approved training partner.

Can you describe how you have been able to use your learning within your workplace?

This course was excellent because there were so many moments while studying, I found tools which were applied in recent projects I had been involved in as well as understanding the necessity of using accurate data to support an argument or a pathway. This has since changed how I approach complex problems and map out the information in a manner that can be used ethically.

If you would recommend your course to another professional looking to develop themselves, can you please detail why and how it would help?

Yes, absolutely! The course covers many topics that are used in everyday business life and for me, I was doing most of the processes but without knowing I was. This course allows individuals to recognise the processes and tools that can be and should be used to develop their team and the business.

How have you found your learning experience overall?

I really enjoyed the pace of the course, the course lent itself to looking at what I am actually doing and was very satisfying when I could reference a study to some of the practices that the business employ. It was very satisfying.

Any other comments you would like to include?

I cannot praise DLC enough, the tutors were always there if needed and the feedback from the assignments was very thoughtful and considered.
