Below, we outline the responsibilities of our tutors and explain how their expertise is crucial to our learners’ knowledge development.

What Do Tutors Do?

The main role of the tutors is to support learners with their knowledge development. They do this by speaking with learners and answering their questions about the different elements of the learning content. They also provide feedback and mark assessments, ensuring learners progress successfully throughout their course.

For example, if you’re studying a Leadership and Management course, you may need to cover the unit Managing Performance. When working through the learning content on the platform, you may come across a section where you need further clarification. That’s where your tutor comes in – they’ll discuss this with you at length, going through any questions you have and ensuring you have a good understanding.

You can speak to your tutors as often as you need to. You’ll book one-to-one appointments with them, ensuring you receive your tutor’s undivided attention. This will allow you to address specific challenges, ask questions without hesitation, and also receive immediate feedback.

Since our courses are online, you can easily connect with your tutor through telephone, video call, or email. This flexible approach is more convenient, allowing learners to access support without the need to travel to specific locations.

Studying online can be challenging, especially when you’re learning new topics to support you with professional development. Ultimately, our tutors provide any additional support you need to ensure you’re confident with your course progression. DLC Training’s Education Team consists of tutors with vast experience and expertise within their fields. Colleen, one of our head Leadership and Management tutors, has worked with many professionals to help them achieve their professional goals.

When asked about her favourite part of her role, she said, “One of the favourite parts of my role as a tutor is when I speak to learners and hear the delight in their voices when they grasp what is required and appreciate the guidance and support that will enable them to pass assignments and move forward on their leadership journey. I am passionate about helping the learners succeed and am delighted when they reach out and we connect and develop a more meaningful relationship.  I want them to succeed and am so delighted to be part of their leadership journey”.

We also spoke with Kim, who provides tutor support for our CIPD learners, and she shared, “Whether I’m helping someone grasp a challenging topic or celebrating their success after passing an assessment, my favourite part of the role is contributing to my learners’ growth and achievements. It’s the very reason I enjoy tutoring!”.

A Typical Day for DLC Training Tutors

A typical day for our tutors includes providing personalised support to learners through one-on-one sessions, answering queries via email or video call, and updating the learning platform with useful information. Another key aspect involves reviewing assessments and ensuring learners stay on track. They also dedicate time to staying up to date on the latest industry trends, ensuring their teaching is both relevant and effective, while actively supporting the creation of additional resources whenever needed.

At DLC Training, you receive unlimited support throughout your course. You can speak with your tutor as often as you require, ensuring you get the most value from your course.

Depending on the availability of the tutor, you may need to email them to arrange a time to speak or organise this through the Study Support Team.

For most of our qualifications, you’ll progress through one unit at a time. Some courses feature different tutors for each unit, giving you the opportunity to work with and learn from several of our expert tutors throughout your learning journey.
