We all know that things are inherently funnier, more satisfying or more effective when they come in threes. You can see this rule of three everywhere: rock, paper, scissors, three musketeers, and red, blue, green, to name but three. But why is this the case?
The answer is quite simple. Blind Melon put it best when they sang:
‘Three is a magic number’
And it’s just that, three is indeed a magic number.
The power of the three, the triplet, the trio is something which shouldn’t be underestimated. Imagine if its supernatural powers could be channelled to your business to drive your success, to harness that ancient force to do your bidding, to capture its essence and use it as you see fit!
Now before you retreat to your moon/volcano/evil tower lair, plot to wreak success on the world, and havoc to your competitors, then practice your best evil laugh. Wait. Stop. Listen. I’m only willing to share the secrets of the three with you as long as you promise to use your powers for good.
Ok?
Let’s move on…
Uncross those fingers!
Right then, ready? Good.
Here are three ways to harness the power of three with DLC Training.
1. Look after your management staff. The skills your management team possess dictate whether your business succeeds or fails. They provide:
i. Motivation – Every staff member is unique. Identify the motivator for each staff member and provide opportunities that encourage their interest and performance.
ii. Goals – A vision for how you want your practice to operate now and in the future. Communicate your vision to staff so that they are directing their energies toward a common goal.
iii. Management – A resource for your staff. They should be able to depend on managers for guidance and as a model of excellent performance.
2. Train your employees. Give them the skills and drive they need to guarantee your businesses success.
i. Increase productivity – If your employees know what they’re doing and are properly trained, productivity will increase. Achieve improved quality, provide better service, and ultimately make a profit.
ii. Reduce employee turnover – Recruiting replacement staff is expensive, time consuming and risky. It’s much better to train and retain your best people. Investing in your employees will let them know you are interested in developing their skills.
iii. Decrease need for supervision – Micromanagement becomes less important, giving you the time you need to get on with other things. Workers will feel they are trusted to do the best job they possibly can.
3. Ensure staff are up to date. Don’t fall behind the competition; make sure your business is at the forefront of new developments.
i. Increased ability to employ new technologies – This is becoming more and more and more important, I cannot overstate this enough. Your staff having the ability to keep up with technology keeps your business on top of its competitors.
ii. Increased ability to employ new techniques – As important as technology. Once new techniques are discovered it takes some time to catch on, by that time there is probably some new, better way of doing this. Ensure your staff can adapt to changing practices.
iii. Enhance company image – PR and reputation is increasingly important, don’t fall into generation gaps or commercial faux-pas, it could cost you a lot.
So there we go, the power of three is in your hands: the importance of management, the importance of training and the importance of staying up to date. Use this power wisely, stay ahead of the competition, but also ensure you use your powers for good.
