DLC Training is committed to supporting the armed forces community in any way we can. As a result of our hard work, we are delighted to announce we have been awarded the Silver Award for the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).
What is the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme?
ERS is an initiative by the Ministry of Defence (MOD). It recognises organisations across the UK for their support and commitment to the armed forces community. The initiative includes bronze, silver and gold levels of award. The Reserve Forces’ and Cadet’s Association (RFCA) recognises the awards for organisations.
The RFCA works to endorse employing reservists and armed forces personnel. As well as being hard workers, they are also highly skilled individuals, which employers can benefit from. The RFCA award organisations with the Employer Recognition Scheme that can pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to the defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
Why DLC Training Received the Silver Award
DLC Training received the Silver award for providing online distance learning courses in a wide variety of subjects. Our courses are suitable for those transitioning from military to civilian careers and veterans already working within the civilian environment. With fully accredited online courses in management, logistics, procurement, supply chain management, accounting and HR, our aim is to provide training to individuals who aren’t able to commit to full-time education but need to study for their career development.
The award was presented at Redworth Hall, Country Durham, and Jacky Stansfield Smith was delighted to accept this on behalf of DLC Training. Jacky said, “it was an honour to be recognised for our commitment to our armed forces reservists and veterans”.
Prior to being awarded Silver, we proudly displayed our Bronze and the Armed Forces Covenant logo across our website. We employ both reservists and ex-service personnel in our organisation and have strong links with Careers Transition Partnership.
Beyond the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, the RFCA offer advice and support on employing members of the armed forces community. They also enable organisations to develop a mutually beneficial working relationship with the MOD. DLC Training can offer guidance and support to employers and organisations looking to partner with the defence.
