Supply chain apprenticeships are being launched to businesses across the North East for the first time. DLC Training are proud to be the first training provider in the North East to offer apprenticeships in supply chain management, as well as offering apprenticeships in warehousing and storage. Our apprenticeships are unique, enabling apprentices to gain a recognised CIPS or CILT professional qualification on top of the standard apprenticeship training.
Supply Chain and Warehousing Apprenticeships with DLC Training
As the UK’s leading specialist provider of distance learning courses in supply chain, DLC Training are ideally placed to deliver exceptional levels of support and training, ensuring that apprentices develop the skills and knowledge required to deliver measurable benefits to employers.
In addition to the NVQ qualification offered as part of a standard apprenticeship, DLC Training offer apprentices the chance to gain a recognised professional qualification from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply or the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport as part of the apprenticeship.
The qualifications offered by these institutes are recognised industry-wide as a mark of excellence, helping apprentices to develop a wide range of skills and knowledge relevant to the industry they work in. This extra tuition offered by DLC Training ensures that employers receive excellent value for money from a supply chain or warehousing apprenticeship scheme.
Business Benefits of Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships offer an easy, cost-effective way for employers to address skills shortages, develop talented members of staff and deliver measurable improvements to their productivity and competitiveness. The business benefits of taking on apprentices are well-known – a 2007 study showed that 81% of employers found apprenticeships made their workplace more productive.
Training employees within a business via an apprenticeship scheme can offer excellent value for money compared to hiring skilled staff, reducing both training and recruitment costs. Apprentices also tend to have high morale as well as loyalty to the company who invested in them, helping businesses to gain motivated, skilled workers who understand the specific needs of their industry.

Apprentices will complete an NVQ Certificate in Warehousing and Storage as well as a CILT Introductory Certificate in Logistics and Transport, which can be tailored to suit the needs of the business by choosing elective modules.
