A North East training and recruitment service provider is going from strength to strength and has expanded the support offered to North East businesses.

DLC Training & Training held their first international Learning Awards last month in light of the success of the company and soaring student numbers over the previous 12 months presenting awards to North East students from Greggs, at Balliol Business Park, and Xtralite Rooflights in Blyth. The college has more than doubled the number of students in the last 6 months and this continues to grow. “At DLC Training & Training our ethos is to provide industry recognised qualifications which are tailored to meet the needs of our students and the businesses they work for to develop staff in such a way that they further contribute to the efficiency, competitiveness and overall success of the organisations they work for” says Stanley Wise, General Manager at DLC Training & Training, “Although we operate on an international level we are still a North East based organisation and supporting fellow organisations within the region in achieving success and growing business is very close to our hearts.”

The company has seen its success grow rapidly over the past 12 months and now works with more than 300 companies across the UK as a result of their uniquely flexible and bespoke training packages. Andy Stewart, Business Advisor at DLC Training & Training said, “Every business is different in terms of their training needs and their ability to provide staff with valuable time off-the-job for professional development. Although many training providers and colleges offer the accredited qualifications we do, we have spoken to more and more businesses who told us these courses can be very strictly structured by the provider and offer little room for flexibility to meet employer needs so we decided to break the mould. We don’t offer set, structured courses to businesses, we discuss their needs with them and build the delivery of the training around their needs, learn about their business in order to relate the training to their day to day operations, and engage with staff to ensure they get the most out of their learning through our unlimited support packages. The companies we work with see this tailoring and flexibility as key to ensuring value for money. The awards we have won as a company and our reputation in the marketplace for high levels of support reflect the importance of the way we work for businesses.”

The company continues to grow with the launch of a new arm, DLC Recruitment, offering the expertise of the company in support of recruitment and selection for businesses. Karen Helsop, Senior Recruitment Consultant with DLC said, “Through DLC Recruitment we have brought together skills in recruitment and selection of candidates with expertise in management, logistics, manufacturing and supply chain to provide a recruitment service like no other in the North East.” As a collective, staff at DLC Training & Training have over 200 years experience in every aspect of supply chain from logistics to manufacturing and purchasing to export and this expertise is put to use in the assessment of candidate suitability for clients looking to fill vacancies within their organisations. “We are also at an advantage when it comes to finding candidates. Our college supports individuals not sponsored in their studies by their company but choosing to study in their own time to further their careers. These ambitious career professionals who invest in their own personal development are exactly the type of candidates employers want and we have direct access to them.” DLC Recruitment is also offering free recruitment advice to North East businesses throughout March to support their strategies for recruiting new staff and growing business. “Recruiting the right staff can be challenging so if we can share some of our expertise with North East businesses we can contribute to the growth and success of business in the region.”
